Col d’Orcia is the only winery who has produced a “Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2002”, a vintage which has been particularly criticized by the specialized press. The rigorous selection of each grape of the vineyard “Poggio al Vento” led to obtain a wine which represents a winning challenge. The result is an intriguing product provided with personality and elegance, able to interpret with coherence and originality the stylistic variations of a very difficult vintage. The color is an intense ruby red, while the bouquet is very ample, with the typical aromas of wild ripe berry and plum fruits, perfectly mixed with the spicy scents of the oak. Tar and licorice nuances give great elegance and harmony. It is definitely a wine with great structure and persistence. The ripe tannins give great thickness and suppleness. A right balance between the acidity and the alcoholic content. Long and warm aftertaste.
